there is now way its going to be a whole new year tonight at midnight. it feels like it was just a few months ago that I moved my blog to wp.org, had an amazing birthday, and just last week that the most amazing summer ever had to end. but no, its about to be 2024. the year where I graduate middle school, turn 14, go to my second year of fuge camp, and do so many more amazing things that I are yet to happen. and while im looking forward to the new year, I also want to take some time to look back and reflect on 2023!

my 2023 highlights

dnow is always a fun filled weekend to remember in Feburary! so excited for this year, but this past year was so fun, with a silent disco, no sleep, and really great teaching

went to my first dance!! this was such a fun night, and another thing that I am so excited for this year : )

lots of fun youth group events throughout the year, from a fun ice cream outing with the worship team to messy games and Christmas caroling!

family beach vacation! this was extra fun this year, since our cousins had just moved down to Florida! we stayed with them for about a week, and the stayed at a cute beach house in Santa Rosa!

lots of soccer + tryouts + the fall season! over the spring I worked so hard every day on soccer skills and technique, and it really paid off! I made the team in June, and had a great season as a midfielder and a starter for my team. one of the things that I am most proud of, though, is that my coaches recognized me at the end of the season for more than just my skill, but also my character, how they saw Jesus in me, and how I was a cheerleader and prayer warrior for our team ❤️

an amazing 13th birthday! I had such a fun pool party, and great time with my family over the whole course of the month of may ❤️

fun day trips downtown with my family we did about 4 of these over the course of the summer, and it was so fun going to parks, walking around different neighborhoods, shopping, and eating some really good food 😋😁

vbs is always a “start of the summer” mark for me and a super fun week filled with teaching kids about Jesus, making new friends, and just having a ton of fun. this year was extra special for sure 😉

lots and lots of pool days whether its with friends, family or just tanning, I love being in the sun and soaking up God’s beautiful creation in the warm summer here in tn.

fuge camp was an amazing experience this year! it was my first time going, and I learned so much and really had a lot of fun with old friends and new friends.

the Fourth of July, or should I say the 3rd of July, was such a fun night with friends watching fireworks, running around, and laying on the hill just having fun. definitely a night to remember ❤️

summer youth group events are always the best ones. we had a messy games, preschool volunteering night with bounce houses with was SO much fun, a ice cream night, a movie night, and a water games night.

spontaneous park meet ups were consistent throughout the summer. I would text my friends, we would show up at church, eat dinner, play gaga ball, soccer, freeze tag, swing on the swings at the park, run through the field, and just have a ton of fun, and I made so many memories this summer in the church parking lot its not even funny 😂🤭

summer birthday parties were so much fun, my sisters best friends party in July was a ton of fun, me and all my guys friends played basketball almost the whole time, and my friend boy’s (lol) birthday pool party in august was so much fun, and that night was really one that I think about often, we played kickball soaking wet and I might’ve fell over one of my friends when sliding into a base 🤣

soccer season was in full swing by the beginning of august, and the games where Derek, Olivia, parker and Dylan showed up were the best ones ❤️

going to soundwaves was a super fun day trip with my whole friend group from school, and we were exhausted by the end of it 🤣

multiple concerts in September and November, the Thomas Rhett concert in September, and outdoor worship concert with Shilohs best friend and my guy friends and the NEEDTOBREATHE concert in November!

injured my knee and IT band during the soccer season 😂 not really a highlight but it happened 😂

ran a 8 minute mile and a 24 min 5k! I’m always trying to beat my PRs in running, and I love off season training 😆

first theatre performance of the year! I had a ton of fun with my friends on the cast and loved hanging out with the younger kids when we were done rehearsing!

got asked to my first dance which was truly so sweet and perfect in every way ❤️ I was not excepting it but it was awesome 🙂

a super fun christmas with our fam!!

2023 goals review

Start a small business-stickers and t-shirts?

nope. life was wayyy too busy haha but maybe this year

Grow my babysitting business

yes for sure! I babysit for an average of 10 hours a week and have double the amount of clients compared to last year!

Start an email list

yes! you can subscribe to it HERE!

Spend money more intentionally, and save more money for car*, camp, etc. **yea I’m big into planning ahead lol**

yes and no. I definitely spent less money on random things I didn’t need but I definitely still spent money 😂

Keep my room a lot cleaner

yes! I did two deep cleans and its stayed pretty organized and clean!

Get on a steadier running/workout schedule

originally I had planned to be working out 2 times a week, but in the past 3 months, I have worked out/ran almost every day of the week, and its something that I enjoy so much now that I do it so often

Be able to squat 50lbs.

even higher! 115 😆

Grow my blog and create more traction—150 followers??

yes! plus I moved to wp.org which was HUGE for me and my blog

Get my splits 😂

not even close 😂

Practice guitar twice a week

definitely 😂 the past 6 ish months especially, I’ve played guitar almost everyday

2024 goals

-play 2 full soccer seasons

spring and fall, last year I only played fall and would like to stay in shape soccer skill wise and team wise during the off season

-focus on core strength 2x week

I tend to lean towards leg day everyday (cant blame me, im a soccer player 😂) but building core strength is something I started to work on this year and would like to make a habit of in 2024

-run 7+ miles/week

I’m sure I already do this if not more, but having something I am staying accountable to in terms of miles/week would be super helpful to stay on track with training

-journal 3x week

I feel like this past year I stopped journaling because I had so much going on, but talking time to decompress through writing things out is super important and I would love to try to get back into it

-continue daily Bible times

self explanatory 😂

-guitar practice 3x week

just to make sure I get in playing time!

-prioritize stretches + recovery

especially with my knee injury this is SO important after a run especially, and if I want to keep running and training while im injured, recovery is really important

-improve footwork

you will not understand anything im about to say if you dont play soccer, but maradonas, scissors, step overs, L kicks, turns, etc.

-try something new or something you haven’t done in a while (?)

maybe get back into archery a bit, play basketball, start skateboarding again? the question mark is there for a reason haha

-drink 90oz water/day

drinking water is SUPER IMPORTANT and I want to have a set marker I hit everyday

that’s it for today’s post! I can’t believe its 2024 – what are some of your goals for 2024 and your favorite memories from 2023? let me know in the comments!
