hey hey friends! hope you have been doing great! before we even jump into talking about this post, I want to throw out an exciting announcement! I have been wanting to transition my blog to wordpress.org for many reasons, and hopefully it will be moved by the end of June! anyways, I have finished up school and have had a lot of extra free time lately, and a lot of time, we can just waste that time! whether its wandering around pointlessly, or getting absorbed in social media. but, here is your guide to having a productive day, even if you’re just sitting around!
1. bullet journaling
bullet journaling is so fun, and I’ve just started doing it 😂 one of my favorite things to do is just spend 10-15 min writing a list of things that I’m grateful for/happy about! even if I’m not in a weird mood, it always makes my great moods even greater! you can check out the happy list I posted last week HERE.
some other great ideas for bujo is Bible verses, lists of future blog post ideas (but colorful and fun ;)), summer buckets lists, plan out your week, and more! Pinterest has a ton of great ideas 🙂
2. cleaning
I know this doesn’t sound fun, but it will help a lot! set a timer for 5 minutes and try to clean up 3 different little spaces in your room, playroom/bonus room, craft room, etc. having music on (I personally like my hype-up soccer playlist) also helps get you energized and even a little excited to do some cleaning.
when I do this, I focus on my desk area, bookshelf, and under my loft bed :). cleaning out bookshelves and drawers is another great things to do. doing this during the summer is also a great way to make your room feel less crowded and more open and airy, which will make is not as hot when the sun is shining in, especially if you leave the blinds open because you love natural light as much as me 😉
3. planning
this ties in a bit with idea #1, but can be used for sooooo many different things. you can spend time planning blog posts, your week, day, workout schedule, school (during the school season), chores, screen time, etc.
I like to workout 2/3 times per week, which is a great balance! planning blog posts ahead of time helps a lot too, because I know what to post and what drafts I need to work on. you can also plan outings with your friends! I’m the organizer in my friend group, so I usually need to take initiative when it comes to planning events, meet ups, soccer games, etc.
4. change up your hair
I, personally, have a few styles I stick with for my hair, partially because I never have time or use time to try other ones out! some of my personal favorites are dutch braids, a messy bun, crimpy hair, and dutch braids into a low bun!
some fun ones that I want to try out are experimenting with Utah girl curls, and just waving my hair with my crimper! Gabi has some great hairstyles tutorials HERE.
5. workout/yoga
movement is SO important for how you feel, and also for your adittude! Even just getting in a jog around the neighborhood, or doing some stretching or yoga will help improve that! You dont have to be doing back squats and deadlifts, light exercise helps with this too, and gets you in a good mood before the next thing!
6. work on a blog post + come up with post ideas
this is for all my blogger friends! if you tell yourself you have 15 minutes to get half a blog post done, you will do it. I know that I don’t always set aside time to blog, and whenever I have extra time I usually just end yup sitting down and writing, so this is usually what I choose to do.
you can also sit down with a notebook and brainstorm blog post ideas! some great ones when you have nothing else you can come up with is some of your favorite products, outfit ideas for the season you’re in, or a day in the life!
7. read someone else’s blog!
speaking for myself, and at least 4 or 5 other bloggers, if not all of us, we love when people stop by at the randomest of times and drop a comment or like that make our day! we work really hard on our blogs and staying on track and in touch with our viewers, and we love when someone pops by and says sweet things. every like, view follow and comment means so so much to me :)) especially if a blog you like has posted a new post recently, take a minute to read it! it’ll benefit you too 😉
8. sit on a trampoline and listen to music
I know this seem kinda random, but its something I do randomly. ts really relaxing and a great way to be out in nature and fresh air but also have some fun and listen to music and just think and reflect.
our neighbors have a trampoline and I love just running out there and just sitting and thinking and trying to blow my eardrums out 😂
9. check up on a friend
every once and a while, I enjoy checking in on friends that I haven’t talked with in a while, and while it can be a good thing to fill time up with, it’ll also make their day!
10. make bracelets
string and bead braclets are super fun to make and dont take long! make some for a friend, family member, or yourself!
I love trying different combinations and patterns, and wearing them and handing them out! they are great for little gifts and a cheap way to make cool jewelry for yourself!
some more great ideas are..
- journaling
- play with dogs/cats
- make a cool snack
- bake
- tan outside
- work on whatever sport you play
that’s all for today guys! drop me a comment letting me know your favorite idea, and i’ll see you next week!
